This free Green Fingers community garden project is on the grounds of the Y Centre and is run by The Art Shack, a creative and well-being space. The community garden runs on a Sunday each week 1pm–3pm and Wednesday 11am–3pm. It brings people together to make and create a space from nothing out of nothing. Grow veg and flowers in a calm friendly environment. Just pop along no booking required!

Open access bicycle workshop

The Old Lifeguard Stores, on the Lower Promenade, in front of Warrior Square.

A free to access, volunteer run, weekly community bicycle workshop. We provide access to skills, advice, spare parts and tools. We help people who can’t afford to go to a bike shop, fix, build and maintain their bikes and we encourage a DIY skill sharing culture for those who wish to learn and contribute. Every Wednesday evening 6-8 PM, The Old Lifeguard Stores, on the Lower Promenade, in front of Warrior Square. If Queen Victoria is behind you, come down the steps and we’re there.
