Great British Beach Clean at Winchelsea Beach

More than just a beach clean - a very sociable event opening eyes to the stories behind the rubbish on our beaches. This beach was first surveyed in 2015 and to help discover the source of much of the rubbish on the beach we "pick up, identify, record, bag and bin or recycle". The information goes to a national database where the MCS can lobby Government to help reduce marine pollution (plastic bag tax, wet wipe labelling etc). For those who wish to take part…

Photography exhibition of the Hastings Fishing Community. This exhibition by John Cole is a photographic portrayal from the 1990s to the present of the men and women of Britain's oldest beach-launched fishing community here in Hastings. This exhibition runs beyond the festival dates from 15 June to 27 October 2019.

Social cycle ride, female only

Free, female only bike ride for the sustainability on sea festival. The numbers are limited due to insurance. The ride is led by a qualified british cycling ride leader and will go from Hastings pier to the end of Bexhill seafront and back predominantly on cycle paths. Open day for all to visit the allotments Come and take a look around the allotments and chat with plot holders about their gardens to gain inspiration and ideas for vegetable gardening.
