Washable Nappy Demo. Information session on how to use modern cloth nappies, how much money you save and the difference between different brands and styles. Disposable nappies are a single use plastic and each baby will use between 4000 - 6000 nappies. Switching to washable nappies is actually very easy and will save parents £100s. Juliet has been running her company for 12 years and has a wealth of experience.

Upcycling crafts and bee hotel workshop

Join Hastings Visions and The Man Shed for some creative fun in the Hastings Visions Art Studio upstairs at the Ore Community Centre. You will have the opportunity to make small sculptures from beach combed and found objects, necklaces / bracelets from wrapped and bound scrap fabric, reclaimed wooden bee hotels. Open access bicycle workshop

The Old Lifeguard Stores, on the Lower Promenade, in front of Warrior Square.

A free to access, volunteer run, weekly community bicycle workshop. We provide access to skills, advice, spare parts and tools. We help people who can’t afford to go to a bike shop, fix, build and maintain their bikes and we encourage a DIY skill sharing culture for those who wish to learn and contribute. Every Wednesday evening 6-8 PM, The Old Lifeguard Stores, on the Lower Promenade, in front of Warrior Square. If Queen Victoria is behind you, come down the steps and we’re there.

Wax Wrap Workshop

Make your own reusable wax food wraps using soy and beeswax An informal, hands-on workshop where you will learn how to make your own plastic-free reusable wax food wrap using sustainably-sourced materials including upcycled cotton, beeswax and vegan-friendly soy wax. All tools and materials will be provided; enough to make one large and one small wrap each. Light refreshments will be served. Booking required, £15: Space will be limited so booking is essential.
