Alexandra Park is very interesting from a mycological point of view, partly because there is such a wide variety of trees, including many conifers which attract a big range of symbiotic partners. Two nationally rare species fruit every year, and I’ve seen well over a hundred over the years I’ve been dog-walking there, including at least 30 edible species. We’ll cover everything we find that I am able to identify in the field, with a focus on edibility.

Meeting point the main car park (“Layby”) by Harmer’s Reservoir. It will be a fungi walk, with information about edibility and toxicity included.
Lasting up to 2 hours (depending on how much fungi is around). Places limited to 20 people, ticket price £3.
